6 Pengorbanan Besar Seseorang Usahawan



Dreams do come true, if we only wish hard enough, You can have anything in life if you will sacrifice everything else for it.



Pada entri kali ini, saya cuba kisarkan pengorbanan yang pernah saya lakukan dan saya fikir pengorbanan ini juga sering dilakukan oleh usahawan di luar sana.



1) Pengorbanan masa - Orang sering melaung-laungkan bahawa seorang usahawan mempunyai masa yang fleksibel. Tetapi tahukah anda bahawa rata-rata usahawan terpaksa bekorban masa berharga mereka untuk membangunkan perniagaan baru mereka. Tiada istilah seorang usahawan duduk diam dapat duit.



Saya sendiri telah melihat ramai rakan-rakan usahawan saya terpaksa mengorbankan masa peribadi mereka untuk menguruskan hal-hal penting berkaitan perniagaan. Oh ya, saya sendiri pernah merasai pengalaman menyambut hari raya Aidilfitri di pejabat!



2) Pengorbanan wang ringgit - Ini adalah perkara biasa bagi seorang usahawan. Tipu jika seorang usahawan tidak pernah mengorbankan wang ringgit mereka walaupun sedikit untuk membangunkan perniagaan. Sebagai seorang usahawan mereka sanggup untuk mengeluarkan wang ringgit agar dapat mencapai kehendak yang mereka inginkan di dalam perniagaan mereka.



Sebagai contoh pada entri lepas, bagaimana saudara Sidry Sinar Inspirasi terpaksa bekorban dengan melabur wang ringgit sehingga ratusan ribu ringgit untuk memulakan perniagaan pakaian beliau yang belum tahu statusnya sama ada untung atau rugi.



3) Pengorbanan emosi - Ramai orang pandai bercakap bahawa untuk menjadi seorang usahawan, ‘hati mau kering’. Tetapi sejauh manakah kering itu? Rata-rata usahawan akan sentiasa menghadapi tekanan di dalam perjalanan perniagaan mereka untuk melangkah dari tahap ke tahap yang lain.



Emosi seorang usahawan mudah tergangu andaikata terlalu mengikut apa yang orang katakan. Mulut orang pakar fabrikasi dan pembunuh motivasi. Sebagai contoh diri saya sendiri, kalau terlalu mendengar cakap orang, sudah tentu saya akan berhenti dari menjalankan perniagaan Internet.



4) Pengorbanan impian - Apabila bekerja secara berkumpulan, kita perlu bekorban sebahagian kehendak peribadi kita kerana kita akan berkongsi impian dengan ramai orang. Kadang-kadang kita terlalu gemar untuk melakukan sesuatu perkara tetapi perlu dikorbankan demi kejayaan pasukan.



A team will always appreciate a great individual if he’s willing to sacrifice for the group.



Sedarlah bahawa ahli lain juga bekorban sebahagian keinginan mereka untuk melihat pasukan terus maju. Saya sendiri dulu cukup aktif dengan pemasaran affiliate, penjual produk digital dan beberapa perkara yang berkaitan ‘Internet Marketing’. Namun, sebahagian perlu ditinggalkan untuk kejayaan berpasukan.



5) Pengorbanan kasih sayang - Benar, wang ringgit tidak boleh membeli walaupun sedikit kasih sayang. Namun, majoriti usahawan yang saya kenali pernah mengorbankan perasaan sayang mereka terhadap anak-anak, isteri, ibu bapa dan sebagainya demi perniagaan yang hendak dibangunkan.



Bayangkan, ada rakan usahawan saya yang terpaksa meninggalkan anak isteri berminggu-minggu lamanya sebelum balik menjenguk. Kadang-kadang, keadaan kewangan kita sebagai usahawan yang baru nak naik ini tidak menentu, banyak kehendak ahli keluarga kita yang penting tidak dapat dipenuhi ketika ini. Semuanya mesti bertolak ansur.



6) Pengorbanan kepercayaan - Dalam sesetengah situasi, kepercayaan terpaksa dipertaruhkan demi perniagaan. Tidak hairanlah, kita sering dengar kerana perniagaan ada yang hilang kawan, ahli keluarga dan sebagainya. Semuanya bermula apabila janji yang kita berikan tidak dapat dipenuhi.



Kadang-kadang situasi yang menyebabkan kita tidak dapat memenuhi janji yang dilemparkan. Saya sendiri masih banyak janji yang masih belum dipenuhi gara-gara keadaan yang berputar 360 darjah. Bukan hendak menipu, tetapi keadaan yang menyebabkan kita masih tidak mampu untuk menunaikan janji tersebut walaupun dah berusaha sedaya mungkin. Di mata orang, kita penipu.



Perniagaan Adalah Satu Pengorbanan



Business is like life – it requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority.



Itu sahaja 6 pengorbanan mengikut persepsi peribadi saya sebagai usahawan yang masih mentah. Apa macam? Mungkin entri ini juga sebagai peringatan kepada individi-individu diluar sana yang bersemangat untuk memulakan perniagaan sendiri.



Jangan lah terlalu risau, kehidupan ini akan lebih bermakna apabila kita mampu bekorban untuk kebaikkan orang lain. Pengorbanan yang akan terbalas apabila kita berada dipuncak nanti. Ataupun di sana kelak.

( Sapa kata nak berniaga tu senang? Ramai yang ingat orang2 yang bekerja sendiri ni seronok sebab tak perlu dengan cakap bos, tak perlu punch kad etc...tapi ramai yang tidak memahami perit jerih nak membangunkan perniagaan terutamanya pada peringkat awal...kalau impian tidak cukup besar, pasti akan tergolek dan mengalah...



Aku sendiri pon banyak mengalami emosi rollercoaster yang tidak menentu...masa bersama keluarga pun banyak yang terpaksa aku korbankan...cuma nasib baik la buat masa ni aku boleh lagi bekerja di rumah dan pejabat pun dekat...ada la jugak masa yang aku boleh selit2 kan untuk keluarga...tu baru keluarga sendiri, tak masuk lagi keluarga besar seperti masa bersama ibu bapa dan sedara mara...kadang2 kenduri kendara keluarga pun aku terpaksa escape sebab hendak menumpukan aktiviti kepada mencarik revenue / income..kalau time makan gaji dulu, tiap2 bulan konpem masuk duit so apa nak kisah :)



Kalau bercerita pengorbanan dari segi duit plak, kita terpaksa keluarkan modal sendiri untuk benda yang kita tidak pasti akan berjaya lagi...itu kalau ada duit sendiri..kalau tade, terpaksa la buat pinjaman dengan mana2 pihak...amik risiko...kalau perniagaan tak menjadi, hutang masih tetap kena bayar...



Apa2 pun, dengan berniaga ni, bila kita capai kejayaan, manis kejayaan tu sangat2 best...takleh compare dengan kejayaan naik pangkat masa time makan gaji (ni ikut pandangan aku la)...yang penting hati mesti cekal, tidak boleh mudah mengaku kalah...up n down dalam bisnes ni memang adat...ada masa kita di atas, ada masa kita di bawah...bila kita di atas, sentiasa bersyukur dan beringat...buat simpanan, back up plan etc...so bila kita di bawah, tade la sakit sangat dan lebih mudah untuk kita naik balik...bila kita ada di bawah pula, jangan cepat menyalahkan pihak lain...muhasabah diri kita sendiri dulu, cek tang mana yang silap...



Aku ni pun kalau nak diikutkan, kecik je up n down aku...life buat masa ni masih tak banyak beza dengan time makan gaji dulu...kadang2 ada la masa income tu lebih, ada juga time income tu kurang...tapi kalau pukul rata, lebih kurang je...so banyak lagi benda yang aku perlu buat...sebab impian aku besar...kalau setakat impian kecik, kalau makan gaji pun aku boleh capai...dengan impian yang besar ni la aku harap ada banyak kekuatan untuk meneruskan perjuangan...)

Article by the Expert: Why Do Most Investors Never Reach Financial Freedom?

There are currently over 1 million residential property investors in Australia. Meanwhile less than 500,000 people have achieved financial freedom. To make matters worse, a good percentage of these 500,000 people are not even residential property investors. They became financially free through successful businesses, shares and the like.



That means the majority of residential property investors never make it to financial freedom. I look at our client base, which is almost 100% residential property investors and developers, and the above statistics paint an accurate picture.



But why?



To find the answer to this question, I have spent the last few years observing those people who have achieved financial freedom. I want to figure out how they did it. I want to know what it is about these individuals that led them to achieve their goal of financial freedom. And most importantly, I want to discover what every single one of our clients can do to be more like them.



According to my research, 87% of the people who are financially free are business owners and 13% are employees with strong financial discipline or people with exceptional talents with loyalty income. Obviously, business owners have some attribute, some characteristic that drives them to reach financial freedom. Before you run out and start a business though, read that statistic again - business owners make up 87% of people who are financially free, NOT 87% of business owners are financially free. There is a big difference between the two, and I want you to know what it is.



Let's look at this again:



The majority of business owners never make it to financial freedom; The majority of self-employed people never make it to financial freedom; The majority of employees never make it to financial freedom; The majority of investors never make it to financial freedom;



But for those who have made it to financial freedom:



The majority of them are business owners; The minority of them are employees who treat their investment like a business;



What I have discovered is that our financial freedom has got very little to do with what we do for a living, i.e. it has very little to do with whether you're a business owner or an employee. But it has everything to do with your mindset.



In other words, you can be a business owner but still think and act like an employee (I call it business owners with an employee's mindset). On the other hand, you can be an employee but think and act like a true business owner (I call it employees with a business owner's mindset).



Let's face it, the majority of the population will be employees, there is nothing wrong with that, otherwise there would be no doctors in hospitals or teachers at schools. But I truly believe that everyone has the right to be financially free, as long as they take on the business owner's mindset.



The "Secret" to Financial Freedom



All people who achieve financial freedom have the Business Owner mindset, regardless of what they do.



The Business Owner mindset combines 100% accountability with the building of profitable systems.



It can't possibly be that simple, right? If you think that's simple, I suggest you think again...it's actually quite difficult.



For example, someone might be an employee in his or her regular job, but treat their property investment like a business; this person takes 100% financial accountability and builds his/her own systems, we say this person has the Business Owner mindset.



Let's find out whether you have the Business Owner mindset:



Do you look at your cash flow regularly? Do you monitor your net worth regularly? Do you take 100% accountability for your financials?



If the answer to any of these is NO, then you don't have the Business Owner mindset.



The Business Owner mindset takes 100% financial accountability. It is possible to be an employee in a job but still think like a business owner when it comes to investments. We have plenty of examples of employees that love their job and are not inclined to leave it, yet they achieve financial freedom. This happens because they treat their investments as a business with full financial accountability and build their own systems.



The concept of building systems is one characteristic of a Business Owner mindset that you must thoroughly understand. What, exactly, does this mean? When we talk about building systems, we're referring to systems that you develop to achieve some financial success and then replicate again and again to achieve even more.



Let's see if you have got a system:



Have you got a set of well defined parameters when you select properties? Have you got a consistent way to reproduce your last success (such as buy and hold or renovation)? Have you got a system to supply capital and finance for your real estate investment? Can you stick to the system that works instead of constantly looking for the next big deal?



If the answer to any of the above questions is NO, then you don't have a system and you don't have a Business Owner mindset, you have at best a self-employed mindset or an employee mindset.



What's the Difference Between Self-Employed and Business Owner?




This question comes up all the time, and it's a good one. After all, if you are self-employed doesn't that mean you own a business? Technically, yes, you may own a business, but remember we are talking about mindsets, not ownership structures.



Most self-employed people never take on the true Business Owner mindset, although they like to think they do. The reality is that they carry forward their employee mindset from their employee days. They do things like:



Don't take financials seriously Don't pay attention to their expenses Don't check profitability and cash flow regularly Focus on staying busy (a habit from employee days) Think they're doing well just because they're busy.



In terms of systems building, the Self-Employed mindset is that you ARE the system yourself. There is no building of systems for others, no discipline to stick with a successful system, just filling in time and staying occupied.



The Majority of Business Owners Don't Have a Business Owner Mindset Either



Just because you own a business and call yourself a business owner does not mean you will be financially successful. Unfortunately, most business owners still think and act as if they are self-employed or an employee.



They may have all of the trappings of success, such as growing their business bigger and hiring employees, but they do not make the shift to a true Business Owner mindset. The business might have grown bigger, but they do not take 100% responsibility for the financial well-being of the business. They do not focus on building profitable systems, they do not monitor cash flow regularly, and they leave their financials to their accountants or bookkeepers to look after.



It's no wonder that 90% of business owners fail. They still think and act with an employee mindset.



What About the Other 13%?



Remember at the beginning of this newsletter when I noted that 87% of the people who are financially free are business owners? These folks not only own a business, but they have also adopted a strong Business Owner mindset.



So what about the other 13%? How did they get to be financially free when they are still employees? The answer is the same as we have been discussing all along - the key to their success is having a Business Owner mindset. No excuses, no blaming, no waiting for success to fall from the sky and hit them on the head. They have the discipline and commitment to do two key things:



Maintain absolute, 100%, complete financial accountability, they give profitability the highest priority; Build their own efficient systems to reproduce financial success.



The Truth is Always Simple



Never for a moment think that your job or your profession precludes you from financial freedom, but never assume that becoming a property investor or business owner can guarantee your financial success either.



You MUST adopt the Business Owner mindset to set yourself financially free
